Sulodexide
Indications/Uses
Cap: Treatment of peripheral vascular insufficiency; patients at risk of thrombosis eg, peripheral vascular insufficiencies, MI & cerebral transient ischemic attack or strokes; diabetic retinopathy. Inj: Vascular pathologies w/ thrombotic risk, transient ischemic attacks & cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular insufficiency, diabetic retinopathy, MI, retinal vasal thrombosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Start treatment w/ inj for 15-20 days, continue w/ cap for 30-40 days. Repeat treatment cycle at least twice yrly. Cap 1-2 cap bid. IM/IV inj 2 mL daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sulodexide & heparin-like products. Diathesis & hemorrhagic diseases.
Special Precautions
Periodically monitor hemocoagulative parameters. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Cap: Occasionally GI disorders eg, nausea, vomiting, epigastralgia. Inj: Occasionally pain, burn & hematoma at inj site.
